Tracking every synthetic turf field in Texas, from installation to final destination.
Every Texas synthetic turf field, tracked to the end.
Texas has one of the largest concentrations of football fields in the country and no public inventory of its synthetic fields, no record of when they come out, and no documented in-state route for what happens to them next. Texas Turf Tracker is building that record.
How tracking works
We follow each synthetic turf field through three stages.
Index
We list each synthetic turf sports field in Texas with its owner, location, installer and manufacturer where known, installation year and expected replacement year.
Track
When a field is replaced we record the removal date, the contractor, the weights of carpet and infill recovered, and the truckloads that left the site.
Follow it to the end
A receipt at a receiving yard is not the end of the story. We record where the carpet and the infill actually went, whether a processing certificate was issued, and whether the material was recycled, reused, landfilled, or unaccounted for.
Field status codes
Every field in the registry carries one of these status labels.
